Applicant Frequently Asked Questions

Applicant: “I’m not working right now. Do I qualify for Mobility to Employment project?”

Mobility Unlimited: We assist physical disabled adults that can prove they will have sustainable employment.


Applicant: “I have a relative that is living with me for awhile she needs a wheelchair. May I get a wheelchair from you until she leaves?”

Mobility Unlimited: We assist physically disabled working adults that need permanent durable medical equipment so they may return to work. Call the Mobility Unlimited hotline (877) 516-0605 find out where you can get a wheelchair on a loaner program.


Applicant: “I have a scooter that needs repair. Can you repair it for me?”

Mobility Unlimited: Call the Mobility Unlimited hotline (877) 516-0605 to direct you to someone that can repair your scooter.  If you are working, we may be able to assist you.


Applicant: “I live in Portland. Am I eligible to receive your services?”

Mobility Unlimited: If you meet our criteria, Mobility Unlimited provides durable medical equipment for Oregon residents, that are over 18 years of age, who are physically disabled.


Applicant: “What if you can’t help me?” Will you point me in the right direction?”

Mobility Unlimited: Call the Mobility Unlimited hotline (877) 516-0605. We have alliances that may assist you such as: Vocational Rehabilitation, Mobility Access Options, Phoenix Pharmacy, and the Blanche Fischer Foundation.


Applicant: “I’m a student at the local Community College and I need to have certain equipment I my classroom so I may attend college. Do you install such equipment in the classroom?”

Mobility Unlimited: We don’t install equipment in the classroom, however you may contact the Support Services Department at your college to make those alterations for you.


Applicant: “I need a vehicle that has a ramp, so I may get to my employment. Can you buy a vehicle for me?”

Mobility Unlimited: We don’t purchase vehicles. If the client meets our criteria, we install the necessary durable medical equipment that is needed for them to return to employment.


Applicant: “I need medical transportation to my Dr. appointments. Do you offer this?”

Mobility Unlimited: No, we don’t provide transportation. There are several agencies that provide medical transportation that are listed as medical transportation in the phone book.


Applicant: “I’m not able to physically fill out your application. Can you do this for me?”

Mobility Unlimited: Yes. The Client Services Director can do a phone interview with you and take all the necessary information. After the phone interview is completed, the final application may be done over the phone also, or if the you have an e-mail address, we can send you the application and someone can assist you in filling it out.


Applicant: “How do I get started in the process?”

Mobility Unlimited: Call the Mobility Unlimited hotline (877) 516-0605. 


Applicant: I’m going on a trip and need a wheelchair accessible van. Do you have one to rent?”

Mobility Unlimited: There are a few wheelchair companies that have the resources for vacation rentals: Wheelchair Getaways 1-877-388-4883, Wheelers 1-800-456-1371, and Accessible Vans 1-888-282-8267.


Applicant: “How do I qualify for a Mobility to Employment Project?”

Mobility Unlimited:  The client criteria is listed below:

  1. At least 18 years old and be a resident of Oregon.
  2. Seeking the item to maintain or pursue viable employment.
  3. We request the applicant participate in Mobility Unlimited promotional activities.
  4. Provide impaired mobility documentation thru a physician detailing the limitation placed on the applicant as a result of the applicant’s disability.

Applicant: “What type of medical equipment do you provide?”

Mobility Unlimited: Power wheelchairs, Manual wheelchairs, scooters, handrails, lifts for vehicles and vans, wheelchair ramps, and ramp installation.
