OUR HISTORY
Mobility Unlimited began operations in April 2001 as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Bruce Hough, a power wheelchair user, and his wife, Nancy Saum Hough, founded Mobility Unlimited knowing that many people who want to lead more productive lives are prevented from doing so because their mobility and independence are limited.
WHY WE EXIST
Mobility Unlimited exists to provide a "hand-up" to employment success for physically disabled adults. Mobility Unlimited breaks down the financial obstacles to gaining mobility, thus opening the doors to career success.
Individuals apply for assistance using a standard application procedure and must meet the following criteria:
- At least 18 years old and be a resident of Oregon.
- Seeking the item to maintain or pursue viable employment.
- We request the applicant participate in Mobility Unlimited promotional activities.
- Provide impaired mobility documentation thru a physician detailing the limitation placed on the applicant as a result of the applicant’s disability.
Our ongoing pledge is 100% of all individual donations go directly to our Mobility to Employment projects, while administrative costs are covered by a group of corporate donors.
